The Role: As the SAP S/4HANA Finance Solution Lead, you will serve as the end-to-end owner of the Finance solution design, spanning both functional process expertise and technical solution architecture. You will lead the translation of business requirements into scalable, standardised, and future-ready solutions in S/4HANA
Responsibilities and duties:
Solution Design & Architecture
- Lead the design of the target S/4HANA Finance landscape (core FICO, CO, AA, etc.)
- Own the architecture for:
- Universal Journal (ACDOCA)
- New GL and Ledger setup
- Chart of accounts
- Product dimensions and profit centre accounting
- Intercompany and Consolidation (incl. Group Reporting if in scope)
- Define integration touchpoints with other modules
- Ensure designs align with SAP best practices and business transformation goals
Functional Leadership
- Conduct Fit-to-Standard workshops; challenge customisations unless justified
- Define and validate business process changes required for S/4HANA adoption
- Provide hands-on configuration oversight and quality assurance
Governance & Documentation
- Maintain Solution Design Documents, Process Flows, and Configuration Workbooks
- Ensure compliance with enterprise architecture and security policies
- Lead design authority reviews and solution walkthroughs with stakeholders
Technical Collaboration
- Partner with Basis, Security, and Infrastructure teams to shape the technical deployment
- Guide development teams on RICEFW (Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms, Workflows)
- Assess and influence decisions on SAP Fiori apps, embedded analytics, and workflow automation
Change Enablement & Testing
- Support UAT planning, scenario design, and defect triage
- Provide knowledge transfer to internal teams and system integrators
- Collaborate with change managers to embed processes in the business
For this role your background will be:
- 10+ years of SAP Finance experience, with at least 2 end-to-end ECC implementations
- 1+ full-cycle S/4HANA implementation (greenfield or brownfield)
- Expertise in GL, AP, AR, AA, CO, COPA, and new functionalities in S/4HANA
- Strong understanding of IFRS/local GAAP reporting requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Information Systems, or equivalent
CPA/CA or SAP certification (FICO or S/4HANA Finance) preferred
