An exciting global FinTech business are expanding their data team with a Principal / Staff Data Engineer to manage a variety of challenging data driven transformation projects, including developing customer driven automation capabilities.
This role is a critical part of the team that is focused on handling secure data properly, solution design and enabling unified data analysis to improve decision-making capabilities.
Areas of responsibility:
- Manage data sets, data pipelines, meta-data frameworks and identify data types accurately
- Data-typing and manipulation of data types using scripts, including testing and debugging
- Design and Development of scalable, secure, high performance data pipelines
- Design and development of public, private and hybrid cloud data environments
- Build near real-time data feeds using AWS technology
- CI/CD pattern design and implementation
Key skills & experience:
- Extensive Experience with SQL
- A software engineering mindset, applied to data
- Extensive experience being involved in Data Modelling
- Experience using the scripting language Python
- Implementing cloud technology, ideally AWS or GCP
- Agile Development and supporting technology knowledge
- Knowledge of relational database systems
- Have experience implementing API’s
- DevOps experience covering CI/CD and (IaC) Terraform
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills
- Experience working with Technologies such as Kafka, CI/CD and building data pipelines is ideal
- Experience with Databricks is very well regarded
