About the Role
Limelight People are seeking an experienced and motivated Registered Nurse with a passion for surgical orthopaedics to join a dynamic team within a well-established private acute hospital in Sydney.
In this role, you will provide high-quality, patient-centred care to patients undergoing orthopaedic procedures. You will work across the perioperative pathway, supporting patients pre- and post-surgery, and collaborate closely with surgeons, theatre staff, and allied health professionals to ensure optimal recovery outcomes. This position requires strong clinical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to excellence in surgical nursing care.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver nursing care in line with clinical standards and hospital policies
- Provide preoperative and postoperative care for orthopaedic patients
- Assist in perioperative processes, including patient preparation and recovery
- Monitor and assess patients for post-surgical complications
- Collaborate with orthopaedic surgeons, physiotherapists, and multidisciplinary teams
- Educate patients on recovery, mobility, and rehabilitation plans
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and care plans
- Ensure adherence to infection control and workplace health and safety standards
- Support and mentor junior staff and students
- Participate in continuous professional development and training programs
- Contribute to quality improvement and patient safety initiatives

Requirements
- Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration
- Experience in surgical, orthopaedic, or perioperative nursing
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care
- Ability to maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
Additional Requirements
- Compliance with staff health screening and immunisation policies (including required vaccinations)
- Commitment to workplace safety, professional conduct, and organisational policies
Desirable
- Experience in orthopaedic theatre (scrub/scout) or surgical wards
- Postgraduate qualifications in perioperative or orthopaedic nursing
- Experience mentoring students or junior staff
