As our contractor workforce expands across both divisions, we are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Officer to ensure accurate payroll delivery and support key finance operations.

The Role
This is a hands-on payroll and finance support role responsible for managing payroll data, overtime calculations, reconciliations, invoicing, and reporting across a national contractor workforce.
Key responsibilities include:
- Process weekly payroll accurately and on time
- Calculate and validate daily and weekly timesheets
- Maintain and cleanse payroll data using advanced Excel (Power Query)
- Perform bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
- Issue client invoices via Xero
- Support payroll reporting and analysis (Power BI exposure advantageous)
- Identify process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy
- Liaise with internal teams to resolve payroll or timesheet queries
About You
- Previous experience in payroll, accounts, or finance administration
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (Power Query essential)
- Understanding of overtime calculations (daily and weekly OT)
- Experience with Xero and bank reconciliation
- Experience invoicing through Xero
- Exposure to Power BI (desirable but not essential)
- High attention to detail and strong numerical accuracy
- Ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
- Any recruitment agency experience is highly regarded
