This leading Retailer is undergoing significant finance transformation initiative to revolutionize their financial operations within their retail business
The ideal candidate will be strategic and experienced in Enterprise Data Architecture with experience in finance and retail, a passion for data architecture and modelling, and strong data consulting capabilities to define the data architecture from a technology perspective. This role requires a strong technical foundation in data architecture and data modelling with the ability to engage with business and technology stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive finance data architecture and roadmap for financial data, encompassing all aspects of our retail operations (e.g., POS, supply chain, e-commerce, SAP S/4 Hana ERP, finance, data platform) and aligned with the overall business strategy.
- Define and implement data architecture principles, standards, and guidelines to ensure consistency, interoperability, and scalability across all financial data systems.
- Design and evolve conceptual, logical, and physical data models to support diverse data needs, including transactional processing, analytical reporting, and machine learning.
- Evaluate and facilitate data architecture decision across the program and wider technology and data teams
- Champion data modelling best practices and establish a robust data modelling framework to ensure consistency, accuracy, and scalability of financial data across the organization.
- Collaborate with the Group Data Management team to implement a comprehensive data management framework for finance encompassing data governance, data quality, metadata management, and master data management for financial data.
- Align data quality standards and procedures with group practices to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of financial data used for reporting and analysis.
- Contribute to the group data catalog and metadata repository to facilitate data discovery, understanding, and governance.
- Provide thought leadership and advice to other technical and business stakeholders around data driven design flows.
- Continuously evolve the data architecture to ensure it remains aligned with evolving Finance transformation program
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience in data architecture, logical and physical Data modelling and enabling the data management practices across the upstream and downstream systems.
- Deep understanding of data architecture principles, methodologies, and best practices.
- Proven experience in designing and implementing complex data architectures for large-scale enterprise applications.
- Proven data modelling skills with experience in various techniques and tools. (S/4 hana Data objects experience preferred)
- Strong understanding of data management principles and best practices, including data governance, data quality, metadata management, and master data management.
- Strong consulting and communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders and articulate complex technical concepts in a clear and concise manner.
- Hands-on experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., GCP), data management tools (e.g. Collibra, Atacama) and visualisation tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker).
