Primary Health Nurse & Senior/Management Opportunities | Aboriginal Medical Service (AMS) – Mid West Region, Western Australia

About the Roles
We are seeking applications for two permanent opportunities within an Aboriginal Medical Service located in the Mid West region of Western Australia. These roles support the delivery of high-quality, culturally safe primary health care to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
One role is focused on Primary Health Nursing, providing direct clinical care, while the other is a Senior/Management position responsible for clinical leadership, service delivery oversight, and team support. Both positions operate within a multidisciplinary, community-led health service.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver or lead comprehensive primary health care including chronic disease management, preventative care, immunisations, and acute presentations
- Provide culturally safe, patient-centred care in clinic and community settings
- Lead or contribute to clinical governance, service coordination, and quality improvement activities
- Supervise, mentor, and collaborate with Aboriginal Health Practitioners, nurses, GPs, and allied health staff
- Oversee care planning, documentation, and continuity of care for clients with complex needs
- Participate in outreach programs and community health initiatives
- Ensure all care is culturally safe, trauma-informed, and aligned with AMS service delivery principles

Requirements
- Registered Nurse with current unrestricted AHPRA registration
- Aboriginal Medical Service (AMS/ACCHS) experience essential
- Experience in primary health care or community nursing (essential for Nurse role)
- Demonstrated leadership or senior clinical/management experience (essential for Senior/Management role)
- Strong commitment to culturally safe practice and Aboriginal health equity
- Ability to work in remote/regional settings
- Applicants must be local or open to relocation
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Current CPR certification
