About the Role
Limelight People are seeking an experienced Scrub Nurse to join a busy and well-established operating theatre team in Sydney.
In this role, you will provide high-quality clinical support during surgical procedures, ensuring a safe and efficient operating environment. You will work closely with surgeons, anaesthetists, and fellow theatre staff to deliver excellent patient care. This position requires strong attention to detail, the ability to work under pressure, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of infection control and patient safety.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide scrub nursing support during surgical procedures
Prepare and maintain a sterile operating environment
Assist surgeons by passing instruments and anticipating procedural needs
Ensure all surgical instruments and equipment are correctly prepared and handled
Adhere to infection control standards and sterile techniques
Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary theatre team
Monitor patient safety throughout procedures
Support and mentor junior staff and students
Participate in ongoing training and professional development
Contribute to quality improvement and patient safety initiatives

Requirements
Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration
Previous experience as a Scrub Nurse in an operating theatre
Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and instrumentation
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
Commitment to delivering safe, high-quality patient care
Additional Requirements
Compliance with workplace health and safety policies
Up-to-date immunisations and health checks as required
Desirable
Experience working across multiple surgical specialties
Postgraduate qualifications in perioperative nursing
Experience supporting or mentoring junior staff
