Are you a passionate and experienced Senior Manager ready to make a real difference in the lives of young people?

I am looking for a dynamic Program Manager within Residential Specialised Support Services to lead, grow, and oversee a large Residential and Specialised Support programs. In this pivotal role, you’ll ensure young people receive the highest quality care from a team of committed and capable professionals.

Covering 2 vital programs/services within the organisation.

Residential Care Program:
Providing 24/7 therapeutic support to young people in our homes and community, this program focuses on individualised care that promotes emotional, physical, and psychological well-being.

Specialised Support Services:

  • Next Step (Extended & Post Care): Supporting young people aged 15–25 as they transition from care with culturally appropriate, practical support.
  • Individual Placement Support (IPS): A fee-for-service program offering tailored assistance to young people in the child protection system, delivered in-home, in residential care, or in the community.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and grow Residential, Next Step, and Post Care services across multiple locations.
  • Design responsive services that meet the needs of young people and strengthen relationships with the Department and sector partners.
  • Collaborate with the Foster Care Manager to support a placement culture that prioritises stability and fit.
  • Guide staff in trauma-informed practices, child development, and individualised support planning.
  • Ensure teams understand and deliver on the scope, outcomes, and flexibility of each service agreement.
  • Oversee contracts, performance, and reporting to meet compliance and funding requirements.
  • Maintain accreditation and licensing, embedding a culture of learning and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure service quality meets the Human Services Quality Framework and relevant child protection legislation.
  • Represent and promote the organisations services, values, and commitment to young people.
  • Lead funding submissions, tenders, and drive effective Individual Placement Support (IPS) delivery.
  • Oversee operational planning, safety, risk, and incident management within the portfolio.

 What am I Looking For?

  • Proven leadership experience in the community services or child protection sector, with a strong track record managing programs, funding, and service growth across multiple locations
  • Solid understanding of government policies and compliance frameworks relevant to child protection at the local, state, and federal level
  • Contemporary knowledge of service delivery best practices, including trauma-informed care, child development, and outcome-focused support
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and drive positive results
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to lead teams and work effectively with stakeholders at all levels
  • Financial management expertise, including budgeting and growing programs within financial frameworks
  • A collaborative and inspiring leadership style, with the ability to build cohesive, purpose-driven teams aligned to organisational goals
