About the Role
This Dynamic and rapidly expanding business is looking to add a Senior Data Engineer with deep expertise in Databricks and modern data architectures to join their growing consulting team.
You will lead the design, architecture, and delivery of scalable, metadata-driven data platforms and pipelines, working closely with clients to shape solutions that drive measurable business impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and Architecture: Define and implement Databricks environments, medallion (bronze, silver, gold) Lakehouse architectures, and best-practice data engineering frameworks.
- Pipeline Development: Build and optimise metadata-driven data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and integration across structured and unstructured data sources.
- Solution Delivery: Lead end-to-end data engineering projects from discovery to deployment, ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, and performance optimised.
- Client Engagement: Act as a trusted advisor, translating business needs into technical solutions and communicating architecture decisions effectively.
- Team Leadership: Mentor junior engineers, guide project teams, and contribute to knowledge sharing
- Innovation & Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams to embed modern data engineering practices into wider client programs and strategies.
About You
- Experience: 7+ years of consulting or client-facing expertise in data and analytics.
- Databricks Expertise: Proven hands-on experience designing and implementing Databricks-based Lakehouses, including medallion architecture.
- Microsoft Data Platform: Strong experience across Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, SQL, Power BI, and integration with Databricks.
