This important field focuses on preventing workplace accidents and reducing health risks, which is especially crucial given how much time most of us spend on the job.<\/p>\n<h3>Review Procedure<\/h3>\n<p>The Executive Directors will review the policy as required. The review schedule is directed in response to organisational and\/or legislative changes and requirements. The review will be undertaken in consultation with workers, company representatives, and other relevant parties. Host<br \/>employers are the client of the Limelight People.<\/p>\n<p>The host employer is taken to be the employer of the person Limelight People has supplied, recruited or placed with the employer to perform work. Host employers have the same health and safety duties to Limelight People contractors as they do any other employee.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Worker\/Contractor&#8221;: is a person who carries out work in any capacity for an Organisation, including work as:<\/p>\n<ul role=\"list\">\n<li>An employee, or<\/li>\n<li>Outworker, or<\/li>\n<li>An apprentice or trainee, or<\/li>\n<li>A student gaining work experience, or<\/li>\n<li>A volunteer, or<\/li>\n<li>A person of a prescribed class, or<\/li>\n<li>A contractor or subcontractor, or<\/li>\n<li>A worker of a contractor or subcontractor, or<\/li>\n<li>A worker of Limelight People.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&#8220;Workplace &#8220;- means a place where work is carried out for a business or undertaking and includes any place where a worker goes or is likely to be while at work. A workplace includes:<\/p>\n<ul role=\"list\">\n<li>A vehicle, vessel, aircraft, or other mobile structure; and<\/li>\n<li>Any waters and installations on land, on the bed of any waters or floating on any waters.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Limelight People. Chain of on hire<\/h3>\n<h4>Host Employer<\/h4>\n<p>Host employers have the same health and safety duties t Limelight People contractors as they do any other employee.<\/p>\n<h4>Limelight People<\/h4>\n<p>Limelight People has a mortal and legal duty to ensure a safe and healthy work environment for all workers, clients, and visitors.<\/p>\n<h4>GNA<\/h4>\n<p>Geoffrey Nathan Australia has a moral and legal duty to ensure a safe and healthy work environment for all workers, clients, and visitors.<\/p>\n<h4>Worker<\/h4>\n<p>Workers must take reasonable care of their own and other&#8217;s safety, follow workplace procedures, report hazards, use equipment properly, and cooperate with all employers to maintain a safe work environment.<\/p>\n<h3>Work Health and Safety Policy<\/h3>\n<h4>Objective<\/h4>\n<p>Our aim is to encourage a positive health and safety culture within the workplace.<\/p>\n<h4>Scope<\/h4>\n<p>This policy applies to all workers, including contractors, work experience students, trainees, apprentices, and volunteers.<\/p>\n<h4>Policy<\/h4>\n<p>Limelight People recognise the moral and legal responsibility required by a Recruitment Agency to provide a safe and healthy work environment for workers (including contractors and workers of contractors), clients and visitors to the workplace.<\/p>\n<p>Limelight People are committed to the prevention of work-related injury and ill health of its staff, contractors and visitor within its working environment. It is our policy to ensure that any work carried out within the scope of the business is conducted in compliance with the WHS Policy.<\/p>\n<p>Emphasis will be placed on effective management, ensuring a systematic approach to the identification of risks using a hierarchy of controls and, the allocation of financial and physical resources to control these risks. To deliver these responsibilities, Limelight People undertake to:<\/p>\n<ul role=\"list\">\n<li>promote WHS awareness within the company and encourage workers to participate in the decision-making processes for WHS<\/li>\n<li>ensure compliance with all relevant safety legislation, regulations, codes of practice and other requirements associated with our operations<\/li>\n<li>where any process or service is outsourced, Limelight People will determine criteria and methods of control to ensure conformity to our requirements<\/li>\n<li>arrange for the effective planning, organisation, control, monitoring and review of preventative and protective measures<\/li>\n<li>have in place a framework for setting and reviewing our WHS objectives and targets<\/li>\n<li>train, educate and inform our Host Employers, Workers, and Independent Contractors about WHS issues that may affect their work; and<\/li>\n<li>commit to reporting WHS performance with measurable targets to ensure continued improvement<\/li>\n<li>openly encourage all staff and contractors to report hazards, including near misses, without fear of reprisal.\u2028<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This WHS Policy is deemed appropriate for Limelight People. It includes a commitment to comply with this policy and all applicable regulatory requirements.<\/p>\n<h3>Responsibilities<\/h3>\n<p>Management is committed to:<\/p>\n<ul role=\"list\">\n<li>integrating WHS into all aspects of Limelight People operations<\/li>\n<li>doing everything reasonably practicable within a recruitment agency business model to ensure the health and safety of its Workers and Independent Contractors while they are at work<\/li>\n<li>consult with Host Employers to understand and communicate their work health and safety management system<\/li>\n<li>compliance with legislative requirements, current industry WHS standards and co-operation with regulatory bodies, as far as is reasonably practicable<\/li>\n<li>where reasonable, practical and possible, identifying any hazards at the Host Employers workplace that may be a risk to health and safety and eliminating or controlling the risk of harm from those hazards<\/li>\n<li>measurable targets to ensure continued improvement reflected in accountability\/key performance indicators at all levels<\/li>\n<li>consultation with workers and other parties to improve decision-making on WHS matters<\/li>\n<li>development, implementation, and review of written safe work procedures<\/li>\n<li>distribution and communication of safety information and safe work instructions<\/li>\n<li>information, training and supervision to workers, contractors, clients, and visitors to ensure safety<\/li>\n<li>review and assessment of WHS policies.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Host Employers<\/h3>\n<p>Under the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 (WHS Act), a host employer is taken to be the employer of a worker. This means the host owes the contractor worker the same work health and safety (WHS) duties as any other employee.<\/p>\n<p>However, hosts and contractor providers are both responsible for the safety of contractors and have shared responsibilities for their health and safety. No contract can exclude the host employer or contract provider from fulfilling their legal obligations to provide a safe place of work.<\/p>\n<p>The host employer&#8217;s and Limelight People&#8217;s shared responsibilities include:<br \/>providing and maintaining a working environment that is safe and without risks to health<\/p>\n<ul role=\"list\">\n<li>training<\/li>\n<li>assessing risks<\/li>\n<li>monitoring the health of employees<\/li>\n<li>monitoring conditions at the workplace<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>They must also ensure the contractor is capable of undertaking the tasks required and is provided with everything they need to do the job safely, for example, knowledge, qualifications and personal protective equipment.<\/p>\n<p>The WHS Act does not intend that host employers and contract providers duplicate efforts to fulfil duties to contractors. Instead, contract providers and host employers have to work together.<\/p>\n<p>Under the WHS Act, contract providers and host employers must consult, cooperate and coordinate with each other, so far as reasonably practicable, to ensure all duties to contractors are met.<\/p>\n<p>Host Employers are expected to look after the workers safety and;<\/p>\n<ul role=\"list\">\n<li>provide contractors with a workplace specific induction<\/li>\n<li>show contractors how to do their job safely or make sure someone suitably skilled and knowledgeable shows them how to do the job safely<\/li>\n<li>make sure contractors understand the instructions they have been given, you may have to consider additional tools such as posters or audio training for example, or the use of a translator<\/li>\n<li>ask the worker to demonstrate their understanding<\/li>\n<li>make sure they are supervised by a competent person<\/li>\n<li>ensure contractors have the right tools and equipment to do their job safely<\/li>\n<li>give contractors safety equipment if they need it to do their job<\/li>\n<li>ensure workers understand that if they see any unsafe or damaged plant or equipment they should raise it with a supervisor immediately<\/li>\n<li>ensure the worker knows the work health and safety consultation process and how to report incidents and hazards<\/li>\n<li>ensure worker understand that they are required to report unsafe conditions and practices<\/li>\n<li>consult the worker and the Limelight People before any change to the scope or location of their work<\/li>\n<li>undertake all required health monitoring, if required for the job.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Host Employers are expected to;<\/p>\n<p>A host employer should work with Limelight People to jointly manage the health and safety of contractors place who carry out work within the workplace by:<\/p>\n<ul role=\"list\">\n<li>provide Workers and Limelight People with detailed information about the nature of work to be carried out, associated hazards and risk control measures<\/li>\n<li>provide Workers and Limelight People detailed information about their work health and safety management system<\/li>\n<li>provide Limelight People access to work health and safety system information<\/li>\n<li>support requests to visit the workplace<\/li>\n<li>consult when carrying out an assessment of risk and identified controls.<\/li>\n<li>consult with Limelight People and Workers on WHS matters including plan and equipment to be used at workplace and the required controls and personal protective equipment (PPE).<\/li>\n<li>consult about any intended changes to the role of the Limelight People Contractor including their role description, tasks and or location during placement.<\/li>\n<li>verifying that workers have the necessary qualifications, licences, skills and training to carry out work safely.<\/li>\n<li>providing adequate arrangements to provide information, instruction and supervision to all Limelight People contractors.<\/li>\n<li>ensuring that there is a system to report workplace incidents and injuries, undertake an investigation and identify actions to prevent a reoccurrence.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Limelight People contractors and are expected to:<\/p>\n<ul role=\"list\">\n<li>be fit enough to do the job they are employed to do<\/li>\n<li>be well enough to carry out their duties safely<\/li>\n<li>do what they are instructed to do if it is reasonable, unless they think it is unsafe or could cause harm to themselves or others<\/li>\n<li>not do anything that would hurt them or anyone else at work<\/li>\n<li>follow the safe work health and safety policies and procedures of the business<\/li>\n<li>do everything reasonably practicable to ensure your health and safety while you are at a Host Employers workplace<\/li>\n<li>complete a workplace inspection check list prior to their first shift on a new Host Employer site<\/li>\n<li>identifying and inform Host Employers and Limelight People of any hazards at the Host Employers workplace that may be a risk to health and safety and eliminating or controlling the risk of harm from those hazards<\/li>\n<li>take reasonable care for the health and safety of themselves and others at work;
